IRVINE, Calif., August 14, 2013 - - Resources Global Professionals ("RGP") today announced the promotion of Steve Barker to global managing director of Human Capital. Barker will be responsible for the growth and expansion of the Human Capital practice.

Barker joined RGP in 2000 to help start the Human Capital practice. He has more than 25 years of Human Capital experience and extensive knowledge of human resources, change management strategies, business transformation, employment risk, operations and employee engagement. Barker's background includes operational business and human capital experience, both from a consultative as well as private industry perspective.
Prior to joining RGP, Barker was a principal at Strategic Employment Solutions, a national employment practice consulting company. He also held the position of vice president of Human Resources for the nationally recognized Centinela Hospital Healthcare Network. In this capacity, he was responsible for all human resources-related functions, strategy and organizational direction.

He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis on Human Resources, from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
