Resources Connection Acquires Leading Scandinavian Management Consulting Firm

Costa Mesa, Calif. - Aug. 30, 2004 - Resources Connection, Inc. (NASDAQ: RECN), a leading global professional services firm, today announced that it acquired Nordic Spring Management Consulting AB of Stockholm, Sweden. Management believes the acquisition will be slightly accretive to the company's earnings this year. Complete financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

This acquisition marks the expansion of Resources Connection's European footprint into the Nordic/Scandinavian region. Nordic Spring, which was founded in 2000 by two former principals of Ernst & Young Consulting, has a proven reputation for helping clients enhance their profitability through the involvement and experience of its associates. The firm's primary focus is finance and accounting, and it services industries such as insurance, healthcare, IT, energy, telecommunications and media. Before co-founding the firm, Eva Lind Andersson and Patrik Schultz were responsible for building the executive temporary management business unit within Ernst & Young, which was sold with the consulting practice to Cap Gemini in 2000. Prior to that, Ms. Andersson worked with Ernst & Young for eighteen years, most recently as a partner and Mr. Schultz held positions as CFO and controller.

Under terms of the agreement, Nordic Spring will continue operating from its offices in Stockholm. The firm's principals, Ms. Andersson and Mr. Schultz, will become part of Resources Connection's European executive team and will continue playing an active role in managing and expanding the company's operations in the Nordic region.
